Not essential, but extremely helpful
By Chris Haines
So, Star Wars Edge of the Empire is a new game. It's also pretty different than most tabletops. That makes the charts and information on the GM screen super useful.

My group has been playing with the beta book for a few months and that poor thing is literally falling apart because we're constantly looking stuff up. (Don't worry, the actual Core Rulebook seems much sturdier.) The inside of the screen has panels for pretty much everything you'd have to reference often: advantage/Threat suggestions, interpreting dice rolls, weapon stats and keywords, critical injuries for both PCs and vehicles. It's solid stuff.

The screen itself is fairly stocky. More importantly, though, its taller than most screens I've seen and each panel isn't as wide, meaning it takes up less room on the table. That's great because EotE isn't really a game where you need to hide a whole lot from the group.

The mini-campaign thats included isn't bad either. My game is pretty deep in its own story, but its always nice to have prefab stories to fall back on.

Also, maybe not quite as important, but man the art looks awesome.

Definitely worth the purchase if you know you'll be playing for an extended period of time. If you're just checking out the game, I'd recommend playing the Beginner's Game first to see how you like it.

Extremely High Quality
By Andrew Bacon
This screen was so heavy, I wasn't sure what it was that had shipped to me. It's made of very sturdy board, and has a kind of coating that looks like it will stand up to years of abuse. The back is loaded with all the charts and info you would expect.

Useful, maybe not $20 useful
By Richard Staats
Game Master's Kit might be a stretch.

The produce consists of a game master four board screen and a thirty page, starter adventure.

Both are high quality.

I was hoping for a resource that would aid in generating adventures, but the four pages of tables are the ones that you will likely use most often as a game master.

Also, after playing the Beginner's Game, I was hoping for some counters, but again, no love.

Perhaps future publications will include these things.
