Great set. Comparable to Melissa and Doug's 60-Piece Set.
By ck_361
We own both the Melissa & Doug 60-Piece Standard Unit Blocks and the ECRKids 64-Piece Block Set. Both sets are so close to being the same set, I can't imagine that they weren't manufactured at the same factory. The only difference I found were:

-- The boxes dovetail joints were in reverse.
-- Instead of 60 blocks, you get 64 with the ECRKids set--this is because you get four extra 1/4 wooden circle pieces.
-- The ECR4Kids seems to have a light varnish on them (?). They are a tad darker than the Melissa & Doug ones which are more light natural wood. The ECRKids remind me of the natural Tegu blocks color.
-- The Melissa & Doug blocks have smoother rounded sides. The ECRKids blocks have more defined square edges and corners.

Blocks are durable and solid.

Just wanted to note that we've had the Melissa & Doug set for about 2 years now. My 4 year old will play with these blocks for long periods, but not consistently. Now that he has two sets he can design and make more things. My 2 year old likes to stack the blocks and then gets bored and wants to throw them. I would wait on buying either set until your child was a bit older, maybe 3 years old (the recommended age). My 4 year old has always been very focused and methodical, and loved stacking and building at a young age, but even at 2 he didn't gravitate to this toy much until now and could include it with his cars and trains sets.

Best gift ever

My daughter got these for her 3rd birthday. They have been the best gift, she builds castles, makes zoos for her animals, and roads for her cars, endless possibilities!!

Kids LOVE It!!
By Colleen
I had originally purchased these blocks for my 4 yr old son because he enjoys playing with them so much at preschool. To my surprise, my 8 yr old daughter insisted a few of her gifts be returned because she wanted a box too!!! Of all the toys and games and whatnot, NOTHING gets played with more than these blocks and many things simply fizzled out soon after Christmas. Would certainly recommend these blocks as a lasting addition to children's "toys" as a creative alternative that will survive for generations without losing appeal.
