Mea culpa to Cream City Hobbies

I should have at least known what I was talking about before criticizing Cream City Hobbies, and this train set. To the few, and I hope it is only a few, who read my review, I ignorantly thought an observation car was a " Vista Dome" car and expressed my disappointment in the set not having one. I should have done my research to learn the difference in the two prior to the review. This train set, as sold by Cream City Hobbies, is exactly as described, and is a truly remarkable "O" scale rendering of the iconic and beautiful Santa Fe Super Chief. There is nothing to criticize about this product, or Cream City Hobbies. I do wish the engine had the switch to turn off the engine sounds though. While enjoyable, they can get a little overwhelming after awhile. Again, fantastic product, good vender. Shouldn't have gone off half cocked.

The train set was much more than I expected and worked wonderfully. I first became interested in this item at a dealers store an he wanted $459 for it. I feel I got it at a bargain.

A Lionel Classic

A classic set train from Lionel. The whole train in the Santa Fe Paint scheme is beautiful to say the least. You won't be disappointed in this purchase. The fast track is incredible and goes together quickly and flawlessly. I purchased the fast track add on track to form a figure 8. I purchased all the add on cars. (Baggage, Vista Dome and Diner). Pulling all 6 cars the train makes the trip around the figure 8 without even coming close to striking the observation car at the end. I purchased this set for my children as a Christmas gift. It is the first Lionel set I have ever bought. I'm very pleased at the quality. I unpacked it to check for damaged pieces and I found nothing broken and it was very well packed. I wound up setting it up to run the train to see if it worked. It was flawless! The train sounds are very realistic but the engine noise is annoying to a fault after some time. There should be a mute switch on the engine. The way this train lights up is amazing! The Train is as beautiful with the lights in the room turned off as it is in daylight! The double headlight & lighted interiors of the cars is something to really enjoy. This set will compliment any Christmas lights or tree in the room. I purchased this set from my local retailer with all the extra stuff to go with it for comparably the same money as sold online. (About $330.00) for just the train set. No regrets with this set. It truly is a Lionel classic!
