Nice playset!
By *Michelle*
I really love the look of the wooden playsets, but I'm not too fond of the price. Or the fact that you have to have them professionally installed if you don't want to have a two-weekend project. So, when we finally decided to get the kids something for the backyard, we wanted to get a simple swing that would be easy to put up (and take down in the future).

The Iron Kids playset arrived quickly and was packaged well. The instructions were... interesting. You can tell they were not written by a native English speaker. But the diagrams were clear and not hard to figure out what they were trying to convey.

I would say that the 1 to 2 hour estimate for assembly is accurate if you have two adults. However, if you have two adults, a 3-year-old, a 2-year-old, a 7-month-old, and two dogs all trying to help, it will take you closer to the 5 hours it took us to put it together.

Each part of the swingset seems sturdy enough. The trampoline is small, but fine for the age range. The picture used shows two kids on it, but the instructions and warnings specifically say only one kid at a time. The swings are low enough for my average-sized 3 1/2 year old to climb up on by himself. The monkey bar is pretty high, so adult assistance is definitely needed there. The slide is low enough to not frighten little kids, but high enough to give a little thrill.

The age description says 3 to 8 years, but the outer packaging states the product is for 2 to 11. The caution on the manual states "This unit is designed to be used safely by up to 6 children between the ages of 3 years to 8 years old with a maximum weight of 100 pounds each, simultaneously, not to exceed a combined weight of 600 pounds." So, it's definitely enough for our kids and we should be able to get quite a few years of use out of the set.

Edited to add: The sunscreen broke off today. It put up a good fight, but we have pretty high winds in our yard. I'm not going to blame the product for this one. We lose kites on 25# string around here.

I have some concerns...
By NebraskaChick
We have had this play set up for about a week now. We purchased it for our daughter's 4th birthday. I picked this set because of the trampoline. I've never seen anything like that on a swing set before and I thought it would be fun.

Here are the cons I've noticed:
-The swing set sways when kids are jumping on the trampoline, even with all of the bolts tightened properly. Kids that are swinging can't swing straight when kids are jumping.
-One of the mesh nets on the side by the trampoline already has a small tear.
-Because the reviews I've read say the canopy just breaks we didn't put it on, but there are metal tubes sticking out of the top frame where it is supposed to attach, and I'm concerned about the safety of it. Kids never just nicely swing on the swings. I know they'll be climbing up there some day and I'm worried they'll get hurt on the tubes that stick up for the canopy.
-We couldn't close several of the caps that cover exposed bolts because the bolts are too long to fit inside of the caps. I plan to call the company about that.
-Two of the bolts were improperly labeled when we were assembling the swing set. Luckily we figured that out as we went, but it took a little while.
-The plastic seats of the swings are hard for my 4-year-old to stay on. She slips off. It would be better to have the rubber sling style seats.
-The whole set was swaying quite a bit at the birthday party when there was a kid on the trampoline, kids on all the swings, and kids on the slide. I'm not sure if it's meant to do that, but it worried me a bit.

Pros:
-It only took about 2 1/2 hours to assemble and all of the pre-drilled holes in the frame lined up well.
- It's a nice size for a small yard.
-The kids at the birthday party loved the trampoline.

Overall, I still have some concerns about this set. I love the idea of a trampoline on there, but in execution I think it's a bad idea because of the swaying. For the money (250 dollars at the local chain store) you could buy a nice big metal swing set with more things to play on.

Fun for Smaller Children and Easy to Assemble
By Lynn Davis
We bought this for our 2 and 5-year old grandchildren to play on in our yard, and it is just the right size for them. We added a toddler swing seat, and attaching it to the frame was also very easy to do. The instructions were good and clear and all the components were well-marked. The two of us put this up in a Saturday, without rushing or having any construction issues at all. We are reserving the canopy until later in the year when it is hotter and sunnier. The slide is a good height for younger children, and the trampoline was an especially big hit. A good price, quick delivery, and excellent results after construction. My daughter is looking at getting a similar setup for the kids' own backyard based on how much they are using and playing on the one in ours.

If the children you are considering buying this for are older, this set may not be the best choice, it is rated up to 8 years of age, and I think that's just right for the size and height of the swingset and slide on the Iron Kids Fitness Playground.
We have enjoyed many afternoons playing on it since it was put up, and I expect many more to come.
