Sandtrooper, Version 2
By Justin G.
This Sandtrooper figure was part of the early wave of Kenner's 12" Collector Series line. It's not the work of art that the later Sideshow figures are, but I really enjoyed collecting the `90s 12" figure line, particularly the masked Imperials.

Pros - This is a very cool looking figure. The outfit is detailed, and the accessories - the backpack, shoulder guard and long rifle - are really impressive. The "sand damage" paint job was another nice touch.

Cons - Like the basic Star Wars Collector Series 12" Stormtrooper Figure figure, this would have benefited from a less rubbery armor type. The backpack has a tendency to fall off, and the articulation isn't quite good enough to have the trooper hold the rifle in two hands without looking forced.

It's not nearly as impressive as the later Sideshow Collectibles Militaries of Star Wars Deluxe 12 Inch Action Figure Sandtrooper Black Shoulder Guard, but this Sandtrooper is still a very cool addition to the 12" Star Wars Collector Series.

Edition Notes: The early version of the Sandtrooper figure came with an orange shoulder guard and had the original style packaging (with a photo on the front flap). It was exclusive to comic book retailers and was tough to come by for a while. Later versions came in the open-front green box and had a white shoulder guard, as well as a tiny Imperial droid (the one that was buzzing around Mos Eisley in the Special Edition of A New Hope). This, naturally, required me to buy both versions, because I am that much of a geek.

I Got Sand In My Armour.
By James
Not a bad figure first one I bought from Kenner...sort hard to stand up. So I took the incentive. I built a stand with pegs did a little modifying on the feet and leg armour. Stood up perfect but that was not enough I went an extra mile and used sand I use for doing detailed war scenes. And took some pastel dirt color and made his armour a bit more dirty. Now it looks like it's patroling the sandy streets of Tatooine. Over all it's nice to see that black cloth under the armour gives it a more realistic feel. The armour is not bad cheap in some ways but for the price you still can't beat it.

Great action figure
By P. A. Brandon
Bought this for my 6 year old son (who has just got into Star Wars via the Clone Wars) and he loves it. The figure itself is very well made (reminds me of Action Man from my younger days) and comes with a detachable backpack, rifle and droid.
An awesome purchase considering some prices for other Star Wars figures at present.
